NEW SEASON 2021-22

With the 2020-21 season now behind us the League is making an early start to the necessary preparations for the upcoming 2021-22 season. It is vitally important even at this early stage that we know how many teams will be competing next season. The attached file contains the club registration renewal form for the 2021-22 season and we would ask all clubs to complete and return it to the League by Wednesday 28 April 2021.

It is disappointing to learn that a number of clubs have made contact with other Leagues about applying to join them for the new season. No doubt this action has been prompted by the unhelpful rumours being peddled around about the possible demise of the Carnbane League. This approach to other Leagues was both premature and unnecessary. It would have been prudent and courteous of those clubs to have contacted the League before making such enquiries. The League will be happy to answer any questions that clubs may have on the future of the League.

OUTSTANDING LEAGUE FEES - All clubs will by now have received their final League Account for the 2020/21 season. Outstanding League fees must be paid by Sunday 2 May at the latest. Clubs that have not fully paid outstanding fees and returned the completed Club Renewal Registration Form by the required date may not have their League membership renewed.

THE LEAGUE AGM - As you know it was not possible to hold the AGM In June 2020 and consequently League officials have been carrying out duties in a caretaker role. At a recent meeting with Council officials it was agreed that the League AGM for this year can be held in Newry Leisure Centre. We would be hopeful that it can go ahead at the end of May or early June. All clubs will be notified when a date and time has been confirmed. Each club will be required to be represented at the AGM by no more than two members. Non-members interested in joining the new committee will also be invited to the meeting. In addition to the important task of electing a new management committee, this will also be an opportunity for clubs to discuss the current position of the League and its plans for necessary operational and procedural changes.
